Bee Repellant

Bees are as much a part of Spring and Summer as blooming gardens and thundershowers. Their role in both food production and the pollination of our own gardens makes us want to protect them and give them free reign.

But...

We can't control where bees will make their hive but we are in a position to repel them, and make certain places unappealing to bees, forcing them to move on without being harmed. Using a bee repellant is like having a free bee removal.

Having a bee free environment means that you can go about your business and so can those who make use of your backyard, without the worry of being being stung.

Where do bees build their hives?

  • Dog kennels
  • Under roof eaves
  • Airbrick
  • Carports
  • Under outdoor stairs
  • Swimming pool pump housing

What should you do?

  1. Make sure your pets are kept away from the bee hive
  2. Do not mow the lawn in the vicinity of a bee hive
  3. Do not try to physically remove the bees yourself
  4. Encourage the bees to move by applying the bee repellant according to instruction

Remember...

Large and established swarms may take a little longer to leave. Do not aggravte the bees in any way, if the hive is established the bees might protect their territory somewhat more aggressively than a newly arrived swarm of bees. If you feel you are not able to get the bees to move on safely by yourself, call a reputable, humane bee remover to complete the job safely.

Instructions for using Bee Repellant

  1. Wear suitable personal protective gear.
  2. Prevent contact between your skin and the bee repellant.
  3. Scrub the entrance to the hive and the area around the entrance with undiluted bee repellant.
  4. Repeat daily for 3 days, this should be sufficient to encourage the bees to move.

All it takes it's a few applications and you will be free of bees.
